When you join the Southeastern Greyhound Club (SEGC), you become part of a large and diverse fellowship of Greyhound owners whose combined knowledge and experience in all things Greyhound is truly unique in this country. Tapping into that knowledge and experience, you can do everything from simply becoming a better Greyhound owner to growing into a devoted student of the breed.

The Club is open to all Greyhound owners. Membership is inexpensive: there is a one-time initiation fee of $10, and annual dues are $15 for one person or $20 for two or more people residing in the same household. SEGC's membership period runs from January through December.

Member only benefits include:

  • A subscription to the Club’s quarterly newsletter, The Greyhound Chatter.
  • Inclusion in the Lost Hound Cooperative.  This program provides a network of support activities intended to assist members in finding their lost Greyhound. Members are provided an information booklet that is loaded with good ideas related to "Grey-proofing" your home, and then what to do when your hound is lost. A refrigerator magnet is also provided with pertinent contact information and phone numbers to call that will activate the Lost Hound Cooperative program.
  • Inclusion in the Greysitting Exchange Program.  This program provides a listing of other members who are willing to sit your hound in exchange for the same service, when needed. At $5 per day per dog, it's a low cost alternative to boarding or engaging a dog sitter.  And the owner can be assured their Greyhound will receive the best care since the sitters are also Greyhound owners.
  • A 5% group discount on pet insurance through VPI Pet Insurance, www.petinsurance.com.

New club members also receive the following goodies:

  • A complimentary self-serve doggie bath at Piedmont Bark (http://www.piedmontbark.com/), valued at $15.95. A great opportunity to have that first bonding experience with your newly adopted Greyhound!
  • A 10 percent discount on fencing provided by Howard Saltz of First Fence of Georgia.
  • A complimentary copy of Retired Racing Greyhounds for Dummies by Lee Livingood, valued at $15.99 (reserved for those who don't have a copy).
