Double Bubble ("Bubbles")
(January 3, 2002 - February 19, 2011)

Bubbles

It is with great sadness that I am informing you that we lost Bubbles to lymphoma on Saturday, February 19, 2011. She had just turned 9 years old.

My daughter and I met Bubbles in October 2006 and immediately fell in love with her. She came right over to us and pressed up against us for us to pet her and never left our side. It sure didn’t take long to realize she was the one for us. She was sweet, gentle, and the best companion in the world. When she first came to us she had been adopted and sent back for unknown reasons. The previous owner said "behavioral issues." I think that owner was crazy! She had the best personality in the world. Everyone who came in contact with her just loved her.

Before bringing her home I was told to put her in her crate when leaving the house as she liked it. Well, let me tell you, at first she went in there with no hesitation. By the third day, she wouldn't have any part of it. After chasing her around the house trying to get her in there before I went to work, I gave up. She was much faster than I. I think she figured out that the bed was much more comfortable. She wasn't partial to any one bed, she liked them all. She had one in each room of the house, one on the back deck and one in the garage. I even put one in my car for her to lay on when we traveled. What a great traveler she was too!

Who said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks! Bubbles never barked. Even when people came to the door, she never made a peep. In October of 2010, we finally taught her how to talk to us when she wanted a "cookie." Big mistake. After that, it seemed all she wanted to do was talk. So was so smart!

Bubbles

I could go on and on forever about how wonderful she was but I know all the Greyhound owners out there already know! Thank you so much for sharing her life with us. We feel so blessed to have had her. Even though it was only 5 years, it was the best 5 years of my life. While I am sad not to have her companionship anymore, she will always be in my heart and soul. I see her face everywhere and remember how happy she was with us. She will be greatly missed. No worries, Bubbles, we will see you again and just remember how much we love you!
