Join the SEGC for our annual greyhound track field trip to the Ebro Greyhound Park Poker Room near Panama City, Florida on Saturday, August 19.
Bring your friends and family for a day of learning about greyhound racing and the origins of your own retired racing greyhound.
The schedule for the day is as follows (subject to change; all times Central Daylight):
- 3 to 3:30 p.m. — Arrival at Ebro Greyhound Park near the kennel entrance. The SEGC group will go in together for the tour of the Greyhound Alliance Sunburst Project adoption kennel.
- 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. — Tour of the Sunburst Project adoption kennel. SEGA and other greyhound adoption groups regularly source hounds from this kennel. There’s a good chance your hound came from this kennel. It’s a chance to meet the Sunburst Project volunteers and the nearly 70 Greyhounds they care for before kicking off their adoption journeys.
- 4:45 to 5:15 p.m. — Schooling races and weigh-ins at the track. Schooling races continue in 2017 at Ebro. Join your fellow SEGA Greyhound-ers on the lower level of the Ebro track facility and watch young hounds during schooling races as well as weigh-ins for the official evening races.
- 6:30 p.m. — First race. The evening of racing kicks off and the amazing sights and sounds of 8 racing Greyhounds at speed begin! The SEGC group will gather at the track for a group photo after a race before heading back home or local hotels.
Please RSVP with a head count for your family and friends so that we can continue to plan the event. Send a list of your party members to email@example.com
