Bam Bam Balaam (nka Betty)
Gender: Female Date of Birth: Jun 6, 2019 (5 years) Color: Black Cat Tolerance: Not Tolerant Small Dog Tolerance: Not Tolerant
Betty is currently in foster, and she is taking very nicely to some manners training such as waiting at an open door and relinquishing a squeaky toy for a treat. Betty is quite smart, and you can almost see the wheels turning as she figures out what is expected of her and how she can earn a reward. The ideal home for Betty will commit to establishing rules, implementing a consistent schedule, and continuing interactive training games to provide enrichment. Betty is a fun-loving hound who will reward your efforts with a lifetime of entertaining companionship. |
Chappo | |
Gender: Male Date of Birth: Jan 30, 2021 (3 years) Color: Black Cat Tolerance: Not Tolerant Small Dog Tolerance: Workable
Chappo is currently in foster with another Greyhound, and his foster family reports that he is sweet and mostly mellow but also playful when engaged with toys. He is food motivated and responds to gentle verbal correction, which should make continuing training succesful. He settles in to walk nicely on leash, but this big fellow is definitely on high alert if small critters are nearby! He enjoys playing in the fenced yard, and he has done well with the foster's dog-savvy 6-year-old child. Chappo is not suited for a household with cats. |
Hogan | |
Gender: Male Date of Birth: Jun 4, 2022 (2 years) Color: Blue Cat Tolerance: Not Tolerant Small Dog Tolerance: Workable
Hogan is currently in foster with five other dogs, and he wants to be where the action is, near the rest of the pack. He is a young boy and still very much a puppy, but he has benefitted from a daily schedule and routine in foster, sleeping and eating in his crate, and his adopters should continue to provide this structure. He enjoys walks on leash, but his people need to be prepared in case he spots a squirrel, cat, or even a lizard, as he has a very high prey drive and would love nothing more than to give chase. Hogan's ideal home would be with an active couple who can ensure that he is provided ample opportunity for vigorous neighborhood walks as well as all-out romps in their fenced yard. No cats for this hound. |
Mepunga Master (nka Master)
Gender: Male Date of Birth: Nov 21, 2021 (2 years) Color: White and Black Cat Tolerance: Not Tolerant Small Dog Tolerance: Tolerant
This handsome, active, playful hound is currently living with fosters where he is learning the ropes of home living. He has learned "down" and "come" -- with appropriate food rewards, of course -- and he is working on "wait" at the door, even though there is just so much to see and do outside for this young and curious fellow! He sleeps well in his crate at night and stirs only when he hears his fosters are up and moving about in the morning. Master loves his toys and is learning to give up items when asked; his food motivation makes training rewarding for both hound and human. Master need a fenced yard for play and is not suited for a household with cats. |
