The SEGC will host the 15th running of the ASFA National Greyhound Specialty lure coursing trial on Saturday, November 20 at the beautiful Bouckaert Farm near Fairburn.

Our goal for the Specialty is always to offer a day of celebration of both the athleticism and beauty of the Greyhound, with an activity for everyone.

In the morning, the first runners will take to the field and run the courses. The Atlanta Greyhound Club will lead a hike / walk around the farm field for those who aren’t participating in the competition.

Around midday, we’ll have a boxed lunch for sale ($5, first come, first served) with proceeds benefitting SEGA. More information will be posted closer to the time of the event.

After lunch, we’ll hold an old-fashioned conformation show that is open to ALL Greyhounds at the field. You don’t have to dress for a dog show — come as you are and let your Greyhound strut their stuff. We’ll give away ribbons and a trophy for Best in Show!

In the early afternoon, we’ll start our final rounds of lure coursing and find out who will go home with the day’s trophy and ribbons. A short awards ceremony and photos will follow the competition.

FINALLY, after all lure coursing is done, we will hold fun runs on the drag lure for anyone who wants to let their Greyhound enjoy the thrill of the chase — they can run just a straight, or a partial course.
